We had planned to stay north all the way to the U.P. Of Michigan before we headed back to Florida but because of the fires in Washington and Montana were unable to get up to Glacier National Park, so opted to head back to Wyoming and wander south from there. Our trip toward Wyoming would be three one-day drives with a stop in SE Montana to visit a couple of historic memorials, then into Wyoming. The drive to Idaho was a pretty one – a mixture of rocky cliffs, trees, mountain lakes, volcanic rock, and steep roads, but we didn't dally because of the omnipresent smoke. We passed through Spokane where there are many beautiful old buildings, a huge children's hospital and since we were on the interstate that's about all we saw. We arrived at Alpine RV Park mid-afternoon and set up with no problems. The park had lots of trees and green space, was quiet, the restrooms were spic and span, and there was a small store, so we were happy.
